Men's Lightweight Rowing
at Cornell
Q&A with Daro Aharpour
Why Dartmouth?
Dartmouth made me realize that a school can have more to its name than just academic stature or reputation. Dartmouth's rich tradition, close community, and positive atmosphere sealed the deal for me.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
My sister told me to take up the sport during the summer after my freshman year in high school and I've been hooked ever since.
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
I don't have a license.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
Other than being on the lightweight rowing team, I'm a member of the Dartmouth chapter of GlobeMed, a national network of universities that partners with organizations around the world to improve the health of people living in poverty, and the Dartmouth chapter of the Quest Scholars Network, a national organization that inspires intellectual growth and civic engagement in college students and aims to help disadvantaged high school students reach their potential.
What are your future plans, if any?
I hope to graduate with a degree in neuroscience and hopefully attend medical school.
