Men's Lightweight Rowing
at Head of the Charles

Q&A with Douglas Payne
Why Dartmouth?
Dartmouth is truly a special place. Its excellence in undergraduate education, location in rural New Hampshire, strong traditions, and tight-knit community make it unlike any other college out there. I absolutely love it here and can't imagine myself anywhere else.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I started rowing in the summer going into my first year at Dartmouth. I ran track in high school, but was always interested in the sport and decided to give it a try. I joined a local boathouse, immediately got hooked, and walked onto the team here my freshman fall.
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
I have seen every single episode of Gilmore Girls. Don't judge.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
Right now, I'm a writer for The Dartmouth Review and a passionate captain of an all-star intramural hockey team, but I expect to be more involved in the future.
What are your future plans, if any?
I hope to go into business or finance after graduation.
