Devon Wills, Dartmouth’s All-America goalkeeper who graduated in June 2006, returned to the Big Green women’s lacrosse program this year as the volunteer assistant coach. Wills, who earned first team All-Ivy honors three years and second team once, backstopped Dartmouth to the NCAA Championship game last May. The Big Green knocked off Notre Dame, 14-8 in the national semi-finals, before falling, 7-4, to defending national champ Northwestern. Currently, Wills is a member of the U.S. women’s elite lacrosse team. A four-year starter for the Big Green, she was voted second team All-America three times in 2004, 2005 and 2006. She ranks second all-time at Dartmouth in saves with 538 and started 70 of a possible 71 games, missing one due to illness. Wills finished her career with a 7.14 GAA average.

“To have Devon back as a coach is amazing. She is such a reassuring presence at practice and somebody we, as players, can go to anytime for advice. She knows lacrosse, she knows what its like to be a student-athlete at an Ivy League school and most importantly, she knows and loves Dartmouth. She brings a fresh and experienced perspective and I am so excited to have her back as part of our staff.” — Whitney Douthett ’07
