Men's Heavyweight Crew Opens Fall at Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.- The Dartmouth men's heavyweight team competed in the club four and the championship eight at the annual Head of the Charles regatta on Sunday.
In the championship eights, the Dartmouth men finished in 32nd place with a time of 15:57.44. The field featured several of the top crews from across the country as well as several international crews. The Big Green's eight lineup featured Cox: Alexander Steele, Stroke: Andrew Kenealy, 7-Richard Newsome-White, 6-Stuart Maeder, 5-Rob Truesdale, 4-Brett Nicholas, 3-Eric Miller, 2-Joseph Polwrek (captain), 1-Brendan Stoner
In the club four competition, Dartmouth placed 13th with a time of 18:12.53. The crew was just two seconds behind the University of Minnesota team and finished just ahead of the Vanderbilt team. Datmouth's lineup featured: Cox: Reilly Bertasi, Stroke: Gerben Scherpbier, 3-Ryan Ganong, 2-Mike Odokara-Okigbo, 1-Matthew Oatway
Dartmouth is next on the water on Nov. 5 at the annual Green Monster, freshman regatta.
