Wisconsin Edges Dartmouth Heavyweights for Cochrane Cup

HANOVER, N.H. - The University of Wisconsin won all three
races on the Connecticut River on Saturday against the Dartmouth Heavyweight
Crew.
The 2000 meter course was fast with a historically strong following current and moderate tailwinds. The result was every crew finishing every race in under five minutes.
Wisconsin brought home the Cochrane Cup for the fifth straight year by winning the varsity eight race in 4:27.76 ahead of the Big Green in 4:39.26.
The Badgers also won the second varsity eight in a time of 4:37.68. Dartmouth's A boat was second in 4:42.58 and the B boat was third in 4:54.8.
Wisconsin's rookies won the novice eight race in 4:40.4 with Dartmouth again a close second in 4:43.46. MIT joined the duo but took third in 4:54.31.
Dartmouth is back on the water on May 15 for the Eastern Sprints in Worcester.
