Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Dartmouth's women's rowing team competed at the 51st Head of the Charles Regatta, officially opening the 2015-16 season, competing on both Saturday and Sunday.
The Head of the Charles is the largest two-day regatta in the world, with 11,000 athletes rowing in over 1,900 boats in 61 events. It attracts roughly 400,000 spectators during regatta weekend.
To kick things off on Saturday, the Big Green were 11th in the Club 8+ event, recording a time of 17:51.180 and leaving seven seconds between them and Canisius in 12th with a 17:58. 869. Brown placed first in 17:09.583.
Dartmouth came in 15th place in the Championship 8+ in 17:02.733, finishing less than four seconds ahead of Clemson with its time of 17:06.321 and two seconds behind Michigan in 17:00.582. The Green finished ahead of Penn, Radcliffe and Cornell and had its best finish since 2011. California won the event in 15:58.626 and was the only team to break 16 minutes.
On Sunday, Nov. 1, the Big Green will travel to New Jersey for the Princeton Chase.
