THIS WEEKEND
The undefeated women's rugby team will play its second of three straight home games this weekend when it welcomes Mount St. Mary's to Hanover.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Big Green kicked off October with a 63-10 win over Sacred Heart.
- Eight players contributed 10 tries, being led by Emily Henrich with two tries, one conversion and a penalty kick for a total of 15 points. Kristin Bitter had four good kicks for eight points.
- The Big Green wasted no time, getting on the board 41 seconds in with Sophie Ragg's third try of the season. Scores by Henrich, Sadie Schier and Idia Ihensekhien followed to increase the Green's lead (22-0).
- The Pioneers got three points from a penalty kick, but an Asialeata Meni try gave Dartmouth a 29-3 advantage at the half.
- Nikki Ihensekhien, Ragg and Henrich all scored within six minutes of each other, and Bitter's two conversions made it a 48-3 contest.
- Sacred Heart got to double digits with a try and conversion, while tries by Lauren Ferridge and Sophie Opler and a penalty kick by Henrich wrapped things up.
LEADING THE WAY
Lilly Durbin remains first on the team with 40 points from eight tries, but Henrich is closing in on her with 35 from six tries, one conversion and one penalty kick. Seventeen players have at least five points.
SCOUTING THE MOUNTAINEERS
Like LIU and Sacred Heart, Mount St. Mary's was a NIRA Tier II team until moving up to Division I before the start of the 2021 season.
So far, the Mountaineers have fallen to Harvard (53-5) and Army (33-5) and handily defeated LIU (45-15).
