LOWELL, Mass. – Maja Desmond finished with a career-high six points after scoring three goals and providing three assists as the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team defeated UMass Lowell, 16-7, in non-conference action on Tuesday evening at Cushing Field. With the win, Dartmouth improves to 4-7 on the season while UMass Lowell drops to 6-7.

Katina Christensen also finished with hat-tricks for the Big Green.
Boo Dewitt,
Katie Elders, and
Jenna Donohue each tallied two goals.
Sophia Franco had four ground balls and three caused turnovers and
Isabella Godsick had six draw controls.
Gisele Todd made eight saves in goal to earn her second-straight win.

Megan Brockbank scored two goals and had one assist for the River Hawks. Audra Hansen also scored twice, and Emerson Laundry had six draw controls. Hannah Shaddock made 13 saves in goal for UMass Lowell.

The Big Green jumped out to a 2-0 lead just 1:15 into the game through goals from Christensen and Dewitt. After the River Hawks were given a yellow card just seconds into the game, Dartmouth wasted no time taking advantage of the woman-up opportunity as Christensen scored her first of the night moments later. Dewitt shifted her way through the UMass Lowell defense and ripped home a shot to add to the Big Green lead just over 30 seconds later.

After Desmond tallied her 13
th goal of the season at the 7:42 mark, the River Hawks scored their first of the night after a goal from Audra Hansen.

Elders scored her first goal of the season with 3:49 remaining in the opening quarter to push the Big Green lead back to three with a back-handed shovel shot inside the left post.
Bennett tallied her first of the game as time ran down in the first quarter, giving Dartmouth a 5-1 lead heading into the second.

The River Hawks opened the scoring in the second quarter when Grace Hansen scored two and a half minutes to cut the Big Green lead back down to three.

The Big Green rattled off seven straight goals over the remainder of the quarter to take a 12-2 lead into halftime.

Christensen started the run with a pair of goals to seal the hat-trick, her fifth of the season. Elders added her second of the game just 28 seconds later. Donohue claimed the next two goals, making it the first multi-goal game of her career. The Big Green closed out the first half with a goal from Desmond and a free-position goal from Bennett.

The River Hawks scored the first three goals of the second half as they looked to chip away at the Big Green lead. Dartmouth responded with a trio of goals after Dewitt scored from the free-position, a tally from
Catherine Erb, and a goal from Desmond early in the fourth quarter to complete the hat-trick.

After UMass Lowell scored the next two goals, Bennett completed her hat-trick with just nine seconds on the clock.

The Big Green held the edge in shots on goal (29-15), draw controls (16-10), ground balls (11-8), and caused turnovers (4-3).

Dartmouth continues its three-game road slate on Saturday with an Ivy League contest at Columbia. Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. and the game will be available to stream nationally on ESPN+ and internationally on Stretch Internet.

Notes: With the win, the Big Green remain undefeated all-time against the River Hawks with a 4-0 record.
