LOOKING TO MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW
Currently on a two-game winning streak after wins against Brown and UMass Lowell, the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team heads to New York City for an Ivy League contest against Columbia. Opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green won their second-straight game with a 16-7 victory over UMass Lowell in non-conference action on Tuesday. Dartmouth jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and never looked back, earning its first road win of the season.
Maja Desmond finished with a career-high six points after scoring three goals and assisting three.
Samantha Bennett and
Katina Christensen both tallied hat-tricks while
Boo Dewitt,
Jenna Donohue, and
Katie Elders each scored twice.
Sophia Franco finished with a game-high four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
THE STATS
Catherine Erb and Christensen are tied for the team-lead in goals with 23 each.
Boo Dewitt sits second with 17 followed by Desmond in third with 15. After they each recorded an assist on Tuesday against the River Hawks, Bennett and Murray are now both in double figures with 10 for the year.
Nieve Donegan has a team-high 10 caused turnovers and Franco is now right behind with nine.
Isabella Godsick is up to 58 draw controls this season and is second in the Ivy League for draw controls per game with 5.27.
Gisele Todd has started all 11 games in goal for the Big Green, making 96 saves and has a save percentage of .436, the second-highest mark in the league. Todd also leads Dartmouth in ground balls with 23.
Erb's shooting percentage of .575 ranks first in the Ancient Eight.
SCOUTING COLUMBIA
Columbia enters the weekend with a 3-9, 0-4 record. The Lions are coming off a 19-4 defeat to Princeton in their previous outing.
Cecelia Messner leads Columbia in goals with 23. Dani Falcone currently sits second with 20. Dylan Silar has a team-high seven assists followed by Falcone in second with six.
Julie Griswold and Adèle Swanson are both in double digits for caused turnovers. Griswold leads the way with 12 while Swanson has 10. Falcone leads the Lions in draw controls with 33.
Ella Sangree has started all 12 games in goal for Columbia. She has made 106 saves, has a save percentage of .412, and leads the team in ground balls with 25.
ALL-TIME AGAINST THE LIONS
The Big Green hold a commanding 22-1 all-time series lead over the Lions. Dartmouth won the matchup last season, 22-6, at Scully Fahey-Field.
Katie Elders finished with nine points in the contest with seven goals and two assists, tying the program record for points in an Ivy League game.
Columbia's lone win in the series occurred in the 2017 season when the Lions defeated the Big Green, 17-10, in New York.
