SEASON OPENER
Lacrosse season is back as the 2024 slate for the Big Green gets underway this weekend with a trip to No. 11 Stony Brook. Dartmouth then heads to the Albany area on Wednesday for a midweek contest against Siena.
RETURNING FROM LAST YEAR
The Big Green return all four All-Ivy selections from last year's team.
Gisele Todd, the Ivy Goaltender of the Year and first team All-Ivy honoree, is back for her junior campaign, having started all 15 games last season and finished second in the league in saves per game with 8.67.
Katina Christensen and
Maja Desmond, second team All-Ivy selections in 2023, and
Katie Elders, an All-Ivy honorable mention honoree, are back again for Dartmouth this season.
The majority of the goal-scoring from last season's team is back in 2024, including all seven players that tallied double-digits for goals:
Catherine Erb, Christensen,
Boo Dewitt,
Lucy Murray, Desmond,
Samantha Bennett and Elders.
Isabella Godsick finished second in the Ancient Eight in 2023 in draw controls per game with 4.80, claiming 72 in total.
Nieve Donegan and
Sophia Franco both finished in double digits for ground balls and caused turnovers, with Donegan having 10 and 13 while Franco had 17 and 10.

REPRESENTING USA
This past July, USA Lacrosse announced that sophomore
Catherine Erb was one of 42 players selected to the 2024 U.S. Women's U20 Training Team. The team had a training camp in August and competed in the USA Lacrosse Fall Classic in October in preparation for the final roster selection to represent the U.S. at the 2024 World Lacrosse Women's U20 Championship this upcoming summer.
SCOUTING STONY BROOK
This will be the first game of the season for Stony Brook. The Seawolves come into the contest ranked 11
th in the latest ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll.
Stony Brook boasts three ILWomen Preseason All-Americans in Ellie Masera, Clare Levy and Kailyn Hart. Masera was named to the second team, Levy was named to the third team and Hart took honorable mention.
Masera ended the 2023 season as a Second Team All-American selection and was tabbed as the 2024 Coastal Athletic Association Preseason Player of the Year. She finished the year with 71 goals and 95 points, both top-10 nationally.
Stony Brook was selected to win the CAA in 2024, earning eight of the nine coaches' votes.
This will be just the second meeting between the Big Green and the Seawolves, having first played each other on Feb. 27, 2022. Stony Brook claimed a 20-3 victory over Dartmouth.
SCOUTING SIENA
Siena opened the 2024 season against No. 14 John Hopkins this past weekend, falling to the Blue Jays by a score of 17-9. The Saints will play No. 18 Army West Point on Saturday afternoon.
Taryn Asselin, Rebecca Gilhooley and Kelly Logue each found the back of the net twice for Siena in the season opener while Logue also had four assists. Grace Nothnagle had two caused turnovers.
Sabrina Krasner played all 60 minutes in goal in the opener, making eight saves and recording seven ground balls.
Siena was selected finish second in the MAAC in the preseason poll.
The Big Green are 2-1 all-time against the Saints. Siena won the matchup last year in Hanover, picking up a 14-13 victory in overtime.

WHAT'S AHEAD
Dartmouth plays its first home game of the year on Tuesday, Feb. 27 against twin-state rival Vermont. Opening draw is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Scully-Fahey Field and the game will be available to stream on ESPN+ and Stretch Internet. Tickets for the game are available for purchase through the Dartmouth Athletics ticket office.
