IVY OPENER
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team travels to New York to take on Cornell in the Ivy League opener for both teams.
RIVALRY WIN
Katie Elders,
Catherine Erb and
Fiona O'Keeffe each scored hat tricks on Tuesday evening as the Big Green opened its home schedule with a 16-7 victory over twin-state rival Vermont.
Katina Christensen finished with two goals and two assists and
Maja Desmond netted her first two goals of the season.
Annie O'Keeffe scored her first collegiate goal while
Mia Puccio and
Lucy Murray also found the back of the net. Murray chipped in three assists and
Fiona O'Keeffe had two assists to lead all Dartmouth players with five points.
The Big Green combined for nine caused turnovers, with
Sophia Franco and
Alex Maliagros each recording two.
Gisele Todd made 11 saves in net to go along with five ground balls and one caused turnover, earning her second win of the season.
AROUND THE LEAGUE
Elders is tied for second in the Ivy League in goals per game with 4.00 and is sixth in points per game with 4.67.
Fiona O'Keeffe sits tied for third in assists per game with 2.33.
Puccio is currently second in draw controls per game with 7.00.
Gisele Todd is the league leader in ground balls per game (3.33) and is second in saves per game (9.33).
SCOUTING CORNELL
Cornell comes into Saturday's game with a 2-1 record. The Big Red suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday, falling to No. 15 Virginia by a score of 20-11.
Maggie Pons leads Cornell in points (14), assists (7) and is tied for first in goals with seven. Josie Vogel also boasts seven goals while Kylie Gelabert, Caitlin Slaminko and Sophie Ward each have five goals. Bridget Babcock has a team-high five caused turnovers.
Ellie Horner has started all three games in goal for Cornell and has 11 saves with a .282 save percentage and a 12.04 goals against average.
The Big Green are 33-11 all-time against the Big Red. Cornell won the matchup between the two teams last season, picking up an 11-6 victory over Dartmouth at Scully-Fahey Field.
