Q&A With Sarah Caplice
Why Dartmouth?
I can't pinpoint exactly why I chose Dartmouth, but I can remember the moment I chose it. Several weeks after visiting campus, all at once I got this overwhelming feeling that if I didn't come to Dartmouth I would be making a huge mistake.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you about rowing?
I joined my high school's rowing team when I didn't make the volleyball team and became bored with my new found spare time. There was something indescribable that drew me to the mysterious cult like nature of the sport. I truly thought rowing would make me a cooler person. I have yet to determine if it has done so yet.
What is something about you that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
Growing up I was heavily involved in many different types of dance, gymnastics, musical theatre, and figure skating despite my obvious lack in gracefulness. Surprisingly though, I excelled in tap dancing.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
I am member of Dartmouth's Big Green Readers program, where once a week myself and other varsity athletes read with children from the upper valley.
