WEDNESDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team heads to Newton on Wednesday for a mid-week game against No. 1 Boston College.
WAIT… WHAT?
That's right, the game that was originally supposed to be the Big Green's 2019 home opener is now a road game. The game was pushed back from Tuesday to Wednesday and from Hanover to BC due to expected sub-freezing temperatures with high winds in the Upper Valley.
LAST TIME OUT
•   Dartmouth won its first game of the season Sunday at Binghamton with a dominating 19-6 showing.
•  Â
Kierra Sweeney scored seven goals, while
Sophia Turchetta came off the bench to notch three scores and
Kellen D'Alleva,
Campbell Brewer and
Katie Bourque all had a pair of tallies.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
•   Boston College is good. Like… very good.
•   The Eagles remain the No. 1 team in the nation this week and are unbeaten at 4-0 this season after a 17-6 home win against Harvard on Saturday afternoon.
•   The 2018 national runner-up, Boston College brings back a tremendous amount of talent this year, including the reigning Tewaaraton Award winner as the best player in the country Sam Appuzo.
•   Now a senior, Appuzo has 18 goals and 26 points in the team's first four games of the year. In total, she has 299 career points, needing one more to join the rarified air of the 300-career point club.
•   Kenzie Kent also beings a potent attack to the Eagles' offense as she has 25 points on 10 goals and a team-high 15 assists.
•   In goal, Lauren Daly has been the goalkeeper of record in all four games, boasting a 9.50 goals against average and a .452 save percentage.
AGAINST BC
•   From 1985 through 2013, Dartmouth had never lost to Boston College, winning the first 19 all-time meetings.
•   Since that win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament played at Syracuse in 2013, though, the Eagles have won three straight.
•   En route to a perfect regular season in 2018, the Eagles were almost tripped up by a Big Green team in mid-April, 13-10.
•   After falling behind early, Dartmouth clawed back into the game with a big second half, holding the then-No. 2 team in the nation to just two goals in the final 30 minutes. However, time ran out on the comeback bid as the home team escaped with its 15th win of the season.
7 GETS 25 TO BE NO. 33 TO 100
•   Sweeney was a force on Sunday in New York, scoring seven times.
•   It was the 21st time in program history that a Dartmouth player found the back of the net seven or more times in a game.
•   The senior also went over 100 career points with the seven-goal day. Her fifth of the afternoon hit the milestone point total, making her the 33rd player in program history to reach it.
FOUR TO START
•   With Wednesday's game being relocated to BC, it marks the fourth straight road game to start the 2019 season.
•   The longest run of games away from Hanover to start the season was back in 1993 when the Green and White played seven road games (including three neutral-site contests) prior to its first home game on April 14.
•   The team has also played at least four road games to start the season in 1976, 1978, 1988 (5) and 1992 (6).
FOLLOW ALONG
•   Wednesday's match-up will be carried on the ACC Network's
online home. There will also be live stats for those fans who cannot make the game to follow along.
WHAT'S NEXT?
•   Dartmouth will actually play at home on Saturday against Brown.
•   The 1 p.m. game from Scully-Fahey Field will serve as both the home opener for the Big Green as well as the Ivy League opener for both teams.
