THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team is back in action this weekend after a two-week hiatus for exams. The Big Green return from the mid-season stoppage with a non-conference Sunday game against visiting UMass at 1 p.m.
ADDED DELAY
•   Dartmouth's break wasn't supposed to be as long as it was, but between that March 2 game against Brown and Sunday's tilt against the Minutewomen, a scheduled March 6 home game against UConn was postponed due to unplayable weather conditions in the Upper Valley.
•   That game against the Huskies will now be played on Tuesday April 2.
LAST TIME OUT
•   With the UConn game moved, Dartmouth's most recent game was a 15-11 victory against Brown in a contest that served as both the home and Ivy League opener in 2019.
•   Powering the Big Green that afternoon was senior
Kellen D'Alleva and her eight-point effort (2-6-8).
•   D'Alleva came into the game with just 32 points, but bested all previous career marks with her six assists and eight points against the Bears.
•  Â
Kierra Sweeney was the recipient of several of those helpers, finishing the game with five goals, pushing her team-leading total to 17 in five games this season.
SCOUTING UMASS
•   The Minutewomen come to Hanover with a 5-2 record.
•   The offense is one of the best in the nation, averaging more than 18 goals a game, a figure (18.14) that ranks fourth in the nation.
•   That total was certainly helped by a 25-11 win Wednesday night over Niagara in a neutral-site game played in DeLand, Florida. Kiley Anderson scored six times, while Hannah Palau netted four.
•   This season, Anderson has been an offensive juggernaut all by herself, scoring 38 goals in the team's first seven games for a per game average of 5.4, the best figure of any player in Division I. Her 7.50 shots on goal per game is also the highest total in the nation to this point.
•   Gina Carroll has been in the team's net the entire time, boasting a 13.29 goals against average and a .392 save percentage.
AGAINST THE MINUTEWOMEN
•   The Big Green will look to bounce back from a loss to their Bay State counterparts last season.
•   UMass took last year's game in Amherst, 17-13, the first played between the two programs since 2009. That 2009 contest was also in Amherst and resulted in a 13-10 win for the home team.
•   The last time the match-up was played in Hanover was in 2008 with the Big Green coming out on top with a 9-8 win. That pushed the Dartmouth win streak against the Minutewomen to 19 straight dating back to 1988.
BIG ON THE DRAW
•   Sunday will be a match-up of two of the best teams on the draw control in 2019.
•   UMass is first in the nation, averaging 20.17 draws per game, while the Big Green are fifth national thanks to 18.0 a contest.
•   Massachusetts usually does it by committee with Anderson (6.17) and Kelly Moran (5.75) leading the way.
•   Dartmouth is powered in the midfield circle by senior
Kathryn Giroux and her 7.40 a game, a figure that is second in the Ivy League and ninth nationally.
•   Giroux has 37 total draws this season, including two games of 10 (Northwestern and Brown).

WHAT'S AHEAD?
•   Dartmouth is back in Ivy play following Sunday's game, traveling to New York to take on Columbia Friday, March 22 at 5 p.m.
•   With the 2019 Ivy League Tournament held at Columbia this season, it will provide the Big Green with an opportunity to play on the same field it hopes to compete on in early May for a shot at the conference title.
