BOSTON, MASS. — Dartmouth heavyweight rowing began its season at the Head of the Charles this weekend. The team competed in the men's club fours and men's club eights on Saturday and in the men's championship fours and men's championship eights on Sunday. It was the first time back at the Head of the Charles in two years as the one of rowing's biggest events was cancelled last season.

The Big Green had a successful day on the water and competed in the men's club fours and men's club eights, Saturday. The team finished third overall out of 44 teams in the club fours with a time of (16:47.601). They were stayed in third from start to finish in a solid performance.

Dartmouth raced two teams in the men's club eights and finished seventh and 10th out of 35 teams with times of (14:49.310) and (14:57.754), respectively. Both teams remained in the top 10 throughout the race in a solid showing for the Big Green.

The team's success continued on the second day at the Head of the Charles. The Big Green competed in the men's championship fours and men's championship eights. Dartmouth finished third overall out of 13 teams in the men's championship fours with a time of (16:15.404). Their third-place finish was the highest of any college team in the race. They sat in fifth as they passed the Cambridge Boat Club and passed Cornell and FIT in the final stretch to finish third.

In the men's championship eights, the Big Green raced two boats and finished second and 13th out of 18 teams with times of (14:01.513). The third-place team finished first out of all the ivies and the other boat was third out of all Ivy 2V boats.
