Big Green Wrap up Fall at Foot of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – With tiny flecks of snow in the sky, the Dartmouth women's rowing team took to the water one last time this fall at the Foot of the Charles on Saturday. The Big Green entered six boats in the event.

“This regatta was a terrific way to wrap up the fall season, giving the team a good focus as we approach the end of the fall term,” head coach Linda Muri said. “All of the Varsity rowers have made big strides both technically and in terms of fitness. For the Novices, it allowed the less experienced rowers to get a feel for really challenging themselves.”

Even with the challenging conditions that they faced, the Green fared well. Dartmouth's A crew, which was coxed by Mackenzie Garrity, finished in fourth place overall with a time of 22:43.1 and left eight seconds between it and Radcliffe. The Big Green's C and B boats – which were coxed by Shia Li Lum and Julia Granito – completed the 3.5-mile course in 16th and 17th, respectively, with times of 24:39.1 and 24:48.0.

Dartmouth's Novice A crew, whose coxswain was Paulomi Rao, placed sixth in the 2.5-mile event in 15:52.7, finishing over 20 seconds ahead of Radcliffe. The Green's B boat was coxed by Briana Tang and came in 11th with a 17:41.8, out-racing Boston University by six seconds.

The Big entered a lone Varsity 4 boat in the event. Coxed by Wendy Huang, it placed fifth in 17:43.9, completing the course 12 seconds ahead of Radcliffe.

Dartmouth will return to the water in April.
