Q & A with Alexandra Lynn
Why Dartmouth?
For me, Dartmouth seemed like the perfect place to pursue my love of rowing and my love of the outdoors. Everyone here is interesting, accepting, and humble. So much of the Dartmouth culture is active, outdoorsy, and engaging. There is an incredibly sense of community on campus, and I feel lucky to be able to count myself a member.
How long have you been rowing and what interested you in rowing?
I have been rowing for five years. I originally started rowing in winter after an injury kept me from playing soccer. Somehow, I fell in love with indoor training, a love that only grew when I finally got to try my skills on the water.
What is something that might come as a surprise to your teammates?
I took a gap year before coming to Dartmouth and lived in Santiago, Chile for six months.
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus outside of rowing?
As of now, I am not involved in any extra-curriculars (I am still figuring out the athletics/academics balance). When I get the chance, I love to go the rock-climbing gym, hike, or go skiing. I hope to be able to get more involved in the Dartmouth Mountaineering Club.
What are your future plans, if any?
I want to do something that I love, which I am still trying to figure out. Besides that, see the world, climb mountains, and be happy.
